New Properties Join the Choice Hotel Family

  • Written by The Southern Cross

Leading international hotel franchise group Choice Hotels Asia-Pac continues to expand its portfolio  adding three new properties in Melbourne and Adelaide. Comfort Apartments Royal Gardens is the  latest addition to the Melbourne network, situated in the heart of Fitzroy. In North Adelaide, Choice  Hotels welcomes Econo Lodge North Adelaide and Comfort Hotel Adelaide Meridien – a dual branded property.

Formerly a Quest branded property, the Comfort Apartments Royal Gardens is a welcome addition  to the inner-Melbourne portfolio. General Manager Anthony Murphy brings a wealth of knowledge  in strategic franchising and diverse industry experience.

Located centrally in Fitzroy, Comfort Apartments Royal Gardens boasts separate living and dining  spaces, with fully equipped kitchens and dining areas to enjoy meals from the comfort of the guest’s  own space. The on-site swimming pool, BBQ area and one, two, three and four-bedroom apartments  with private balconies overlooking the garden or a courtyard make the property ideal for families,  large groups or corporates looking for a home away from home.

Operated by 1834 Hotels, the dual-branded property – Econo Lodge North Adelaide and Comfort  Hotel Adelaide Meridien – is a fantastic addition to the North Adelaide portfolio. The new properties  further solidify Choice’s relationship with the management company, which also operate the Quality  Apartments Adelaide Central, which joined the group earlier in 2021.

Econo Lodge North Adelaide and Comfort Hotel Adelaide Meridien comprise one- and two-bedroom  apartments with an on-site gym and outdoor pool. The hotel is ideally located within walking  distance of North Adelaide’s hospitality district with a diverse range of boutique shops.

Trent Fraser, CEO of Choice Hotels Asia-Pac, said: “I’m thrilled to be welcoming such strong additions  into our network in Melbourne and Adelaide, especially during a time when we’re firmly focused on  supporting our franchisee’s recovery.

I commend each of our hoteliers for their perseverance during these challenging times while we  continue to navigate and bounce back from rolling lockdowns around the country.”

The three new properties are welcomed into the Choice Hotels Asia-Pac family as the hotel group  continues to navigate the challenges of the pandemic across the region and delivers strong  performance results with the new financial year in full swing. Choice Hotels Asia-Pac continued to  experience strong direct online growth in particular in Q2 of 2021, with direct online reservations  increasing 95% compared to the same time in 2019.
